Tyres

Standard, All Season & Winter Tyres

We primarily use Landsail tyres, but will match the brand of tyres that you have on your car or if you have a preference for certain tyre brands.

It goes without saying that the tyres are one of the most important parts of your car – having worn out types is a major source of accidents and could be the difference between stopping safely or knocking down a pedestrian.

We will check your tyres and replace any worn tyres or indicate how much life could be left in them.

Should I fit Winter Tyres?

Summer tyres excel in warm, dry, and wet conditions with harder rubber and optimized tread for grip, stability, and mileage.
Winter tyres use a softer compound, deep treads, and “sipes” (tiny grooves) for flexibility, braking, and traction in cold, snow, and ice (below 7°C/46°F). The key difference is the rubber compound and tread design, with winter tyres remaining flexible in freezing temps where summer tyres stiffen and lose grip, dramatically increasing stopping distances in cold weather.

All Season Tyres

All-season tyres are versatile, hybrid tyres designed for year-round use. They blend features of summer and winter tyres with moderate tread and a balanced rubber compound for grip in wet, dry, and light snowy conditions, eliminating the need for seasonal changes but offering less extreme performance than dedicated winter or summer tyres. They feature deeper grooves and sipes for wet/cold grip but stay flexible in warmth, ideal for UK drivers or urban areas, though not for heavy snow or prolonged freezing conditions where dedicated winter tyres excel.
